Valentine's Day Weekend

For Valentines, the boys made Dayton chocolate chip cookies (his favorite treat) and a Valentine card.

We started making cookies at 8 a.m. (Hunter insisted) while Dayton was at work so we could surprise him. You can tell Hunter woke up early to get started!
We made X O and heart cookies.

Hunter used his hand to make a fish and Carter used his feet to make the bees. They were excited to give to to Daddy!

The anticipation was killing Hunter ALL day. He loves chocolate chip cookies as much as his Daddy and he could barely wait to give it to him before he grabbed on himself.

Then, we jumped in the car to visit Grandpa Dave while Grandma Shirlene was in Cancun with her siblings and Grandpa Dee. Grandpa Dave was an excellent host and was sure excited to see us! We had a great, relaxing weekend.
Hunter could not contain his excitement. He was thrilled to go visit Grandpa Dave. Although he was sad Grandma Shirlene wasn't there with him, he sure enjoyed Roosevelt and the one on one time with Grandpa. When we pulled into the driveway, Hunter said "I see Grandpa Dave's house! I see it! I"m so excited!" This was a video of Hunter on our car ride to Roosevelt.

The first thing Hunter wanted to do was read his "Stanley" books. He even got a new one since we last visited- Stanley the baker. It may be his favorite. We read it more times than I can count over the weekend.
Dayton and I were able to go on a quick snowshoeing adventure for Valentines Day. We borrowed some shoes from my parents and hit the Uintahs. It was a super nice, warm day. . . which made it interesting. The Uintahs near Roosevelt was not what I was anticipating. It was an adventure for sure. Not my most favorite snowshoeing adventure, but snowshoeing doesn't seem to work out for us. The last time we went snowshoeing was when Dayton proposed, and this was about as good as that. . . hahaha.

and here was us four years ago when we got engaged. . . .

kind of fun to remember.

Hunter enjoyed Roosevelt and playing with Captain and KO. He wanted to read him his Stanley books.

He thought it was pretty funny to share his breakfast with Captain.

Hunter enjoyed being outside and on the farm. He even found a chicken egg! We cooked it up for breakfast.
Even without Grandma Shirlene, Hunter found Grandma's treat stash. . . this is what was left of it.

On Sunday, we made Grandma Fern's famous red Valentine cookies.
 Hunter was a great helper.
It was good to visit. We sure are glad we only have to drive from Salt Lake and not Logan. The drive felt so much shorter and was soooo much nicer for the kids. Thanks Grandpa Dave!
