They finished digging the hole and the boys thought it was so fun to explore. Dayton was fascinated and took them down and gave them a geology lesson.
We had weird weather in December. It was freezing, lots of snow, and then warm temperatures. This was not good for the project. It's been problem after problem. Christmas Eve, giant sections were caving in. We were worried about it being so close to the house. I took the kids to Murray for our Christmas Eve celebrations. Dayton stayed with the excavation team and tried to reinforce and secure the hole so he wouldn't keep caving in. It was a stressful disaster and didn't make for a great Christmas Eve. Dayton eventually came to Murray that afternoon and spent a few hours with my family before we headed home for our own Christmas Eve celebrations.
Luckily the footings and foundation team were able to come the next week and get that done.
