For Spring Break we headed down to Kanab. Neither of us had been there before and it was an absolute blast. We loved it.
We first stopped at Moqui cave. It was a little museum and gift shop. The cave used to be an old bar and dance hall. Now the family turned it into a museum.
The boys had to get a rootbeer at the bar. HAH.
After the museum we hiked up to the sand caves. They were so neat. The hike was a little steep, but nice and short for the kiddos. They did great.
All of the Airbnbs were booked this week so we had to cram into one hotel room. It wasn't ideal but this slumber pod was a game changer! Its a blackout tent that you put over a pack n play. We were all able to sleep pretty well.
The next morning we went on a side by side ride to Peek a Boo slot canyon. The only way you can get there is with some sort of ATV. Hunter isn't too fond of the side by side but he wanted to do the hike and agreed. We assured him it wasn't a crazy trail and it would be short and sweet. Well we kind of got lost for a bit so the trail ended up being much longer and there were some pretty big sandy hills. Hunter was freaking out but eventually we found the trail and he had so much fun on the hike I think he thought it was worth it? He was at least glad to know we got lost and we hadn't lied about it being a simple trail. Luckily we didn't have to repeat it on the way back.
These pictures were taken at the beginning of the ride, when everyone was smiling and not crying. HAH.The first hills were exciting.
That afternoon the Harris family met up with us and we hiked the dinosaur track trail. It wasn't the easiest hike and definitely not our favorite, but Cooper still talks about it so I guess it was worth it. It was just hot with zero shade. The trail at the top gets tricky, especially with babies on the back. Probably wouldn't recommend it.
We grabbed some dinner and hung-out at the hotel afterwards.
The next morning we went to Coral Pink Sand dunes and I am so glad we went in the morning because it gets hot, but it was so cool! We absolutely loved it. Everyone enjoyed rolling around in the sand- even the adults.
We got to sled down the hill and it was so fun. I couldn't believe how fast we went. I flew down and ate a mouthful of sand!
The Laws and Harris families- its a lot of boys!
It was seriously a little boy's heaven.
Cooper got completely covered. It seriously looked like an oompa loompa. It was hilarious. I felt so bad for the people who cleaned our hotel room because there was sand everywhere. Literally pockets and pockets full of sand.
We took the side by side out for a ride and had a great time- our first ride in the sane.
We let the littles take a nap and then we headed towards Dragon Belly's hike. It was a short hike, but a fun place for the boys to play- rocks and dirt!
We walked through a cave that was supposed to be like a dragon's belly and then at the end of the trail there was this little valley of rock statues. The boys enjoyed adding to them.
We went and got burgers for dinner and ate at the park. It was such a fun family vacation and it was so fun to share it with the Harris family.
