Hunter started taking piano lessons just over a year ago. In February he competed in his first festival. It was a hymn festival and he rocked it! He is really talented and has caught on to the piano quickly and really enjoys it too. We are so proud of all of his hard work.
The festival was in Salt Lake. Grandma Hunter was a judge for the festival (couldn't judge Hunter) but we were glad she was able to be there to hear him and Papa also came to watch him.
Afterwards we celebrated at a Chinese buffet and he couldn't have been happier.
A month later he had the federation festival and it wasn't a surprise when he wanted to go to the buffet again. We invited Papa to come with us this time and we even squeezed in him game time at Grandmas. It was a fun day and I enjoyed celebrating all of his hard work with him.
Hunter did so well at federation that he was chosen from his level to play at a showcase recital. Only a handful of students out of hundreds are chosen, so it was a big deal. Pretty impressive for his first year of federation. He did great. Afterwards, he asked me when the next competition would be. Haha.
