Happy Halloween

We were dressing up for Halloween all week long. Hunter's school celebrated Halloween on Wednesday because Parent Teacher Conferences were Thursday and there wasn't school Friday. He wasn't allowed to wear much of his Darth Vader costume, so we quickly improvised with a ninja costume. I was impressed we pulled it off without buying anything and I didn't even have to sew. AND Hunter was happy about it. HUGE success.
Carter dressed up for his school on Thursday. He was very excited about his costume. We had to do make-up and dye is hair for the full effect. He sure loves Halloween.
The kids both were out of school on Friday so we had our cousin Halloween party.
Saturday, we had our own family Halloween traditions. Party, Party, Party for sure!
For lunch, we made jack-o-lantern quesadillas and grilled cheese sandwiches.

That night we carved pumpkins.

Aunt Katie hosted the Halloween cousin party and she went all out. She had so many fun activities planned.
The kids had a toilet paper mummy contest.
They played don't eat Pete!
Decorated Halloween bags.
Frosted cookies

Katie set up a mystery Halloween sensory area. The kids had to guess what items were maggots, monster brains, hearts, zombie eyes, and witchs' warts.
We had a pizza party outside.

Dirt cups for dessert.
The next day was Halloween. We dressed the kids up and had our "spooky" dinner.

For dinner we had monster meatball eyes and purple spaghetti. We made witches' finger breadsticks and monster apple mouths.

Cooper got a special octopus string cheese.
We also made homemade rootbeer.

Halloween 2020 was definitely different than any other. We were impressed with how creative people got with passing out candy.
