We celebrated the 24th of July here in Mapleton. In the morning, Hunter was part of the parade. He participated as a missionary on our ward's float. He was very proud of himself.
We watched the parade with Carter while we waited for Hunter. We sat by ourselves, which was definitely the way to go. Carter got lots of attention and didn't have to fight for candy.

Carter loved the parade. He got so excited when he saw the motorcycles and fire trucks. They had a Model A club for Utah County in the parade and Carter loved it. Anything with a motor is just about the greatest thing for this kid.
After the parade, we went to Mapleton City Park and participated in the festivities there. We saw a bird show and enjoyed the entertainment. We hung out there for a few hours and then came home for lunch. That night, Shirlene and Mariah came with a few tennis friends and stayed the night on their way to a tennis camp in Vegas. We took advantage of having Shirlene stay with the kiddos and we went and watched the legendary Mapleton fireworks. We had heard about these fireworks since we moved here (almost a year ago). They definitely didn't disappoint. They were amazing and hands down the best fireworks we had ever seen. They claim to rival stadium of fire fireworks and I would probably agree. It was a great way to celebrate living in such a great place.
