Bahama Cruise

Dayton's family wanted to go on one last family vacation before Cayden left for his mission. Cayden had his farewell  the Sunday before Memorial Day and we left for the Cruise the following Thursday. We flew to Maryland and left from Baltimore. Hunter did great on the flight. This month Hunter traveled to Roosevelt, New York, and now Bahamas. Quite the traveler already.

We attended Cayden's Graduation and farewell. Hunter was happy to spend lots of time with him before he left.
Hunter was happy to see Grandma Law too!

. . .  and of course Hunter got to spend lots and lots of time with Grandpa Dave. They are going to be great friends. He got a tour of the sheep, chickens, and farm.
We came back to Logan and three days later headed for the cruise.
We spent lots of time hanging out in the airports. Hunter was great and had lots of helpers.

We got to Baltimore late Thursday night and then left Friday morning for the cruise. We got on the boat around noon and had lunch at the buffet.  Hunter took full advantage of the food services while we are there. He enjoyed his first chocolate chip cookie.  He pretty much hijacked it from Grandma Shirlene and would not give it back. He downed the whole thing.... he definitely is his father's son.

Hunter agrees with Grandma Shirlene that chocolate is the best treat.
Every night we dressed up and went to dinner at the restaurant at 5:30.  We had the same waiter every night and we loved him! He was so good to us and had the best magic tricks. I had a special waiter who was there to make sure I was happy despite my food allergies. Stipe, the head waiter, came to me every night to make sure I was happy. He would give me the menu the night before and I could choose what I wanted, or they would make me a special dish. They were so good to me.
Magic Tricks...

This is Craig. He was our assistant waiter. Once he found out the Law's liked milk, he brought everyone a big glass every night. It was pretty cute.

Hunter was treated like royalty. Every night out waiter brought him a special plate with "Hunter" food. He enjoyed fresh fruit, mashed potatoes, rice, chocolate ice cream, chocolate pudding, rolls and any entrée that Grandpa Dave got. The waiters were so cute with him and all of them knew and greeted Hunter by name. He LOVED the attention.

Dayton and Cayden took full advantage of the unlimited supply of food and pretty much ate constantly. They would order several dishes at dinner, room service at night, and averaged 10 ice cream cones throughout the day. They had a competition of who could gain the most weight during the week.

Hamburgers on the deck.

Nightly room service.  Yes we did order all that food in one night. We felt embarrassed and put our trays in front of other rooms.  I don't even know how many wings we ordered. . .

One of the many ice cream runs. . .  we have SO many pictures of these two eating ice cream.

Dave was really great to help out with Hunter during dinner. Our two our meal was a little long so Dave was a life savor and went on walks with Hunter. The first night Dave was gone when we ordered desert. Shirlene surprised him with a cheese plate for dessert claiming it was his favorite. Dave did not share the same idea and honestly thought we were playing a joke when we told him what he would be getting for dessert that night.  Cheese plate for dessert? It became the joke for the week.
Everyone else enjoyed creme brule, cheesecake, and chocolate mouse that night.
The first two days we spent at Sea. We enjoyed hanging out on the ship. They had a great gym, six hot tubs, two pools with a movie theater, shuffle boards, ping-pong, great shows and entertainment, and of course great food.
There were many shuffle board tournaments.

Hunter did not like putting his face in the salt water.

I could have just hangout on the deck enjoying the warm weather and ocean the entire week.

Formal night on the cruise

Dinner that night. . .

Hunter turned 9 months on the cruise. Everyone loved I'm and thought he was the cutest baby in the world. There weren't many babies on the boat so Hunter got LOTS of attention. He broke about every girls heart strutting his shirt and tie on formal night. By the end of the cruise random people we had never seen came up to him, "Hello Hunter!" We still have no idea how everyone knew his name.

It was so nice to come back from dinner each night to a clean room with newly made beds.  Hunter liked finding the towel animals each night.

One night our waiter entertained Hunter with puppet napkins.

This was Hunter's "girlfriend." She could come visit her boyfriend every night at dinner. Hunter loved her.
The third day, Sunday, we stopped in Port Canaveral, Florida. All of the excursions were difficult with Hunter.  The weather wasn't great- it was kind of rainy- so Dayton and I stayed on the ship with Hunter that day while everyone else when on a alligator river tour.

On Monday, were were in Nassau, Bahamas. Dayton and Cayden went snorkeling.  The rest of us went to the shopping markets and explored the town of Nassau. We stopped at a public beach on a way back.  Again, not the best weather so we didn't get in the water very much that day.

Hunter still enjoyed the beach.

Shopping crew in Nassau. With the baby and crippled Bo we sure got lots of attention.

Beach Time! First time feeling the Ocean!

Our fifth day, we finally got good weather! It was a perfect beach day for our next adventure in Coco Cay, which is Royal Caribbean's private island.

Got to love the turquoise water!
Hunter was happy to "chill" on the beach and taste the sea shells.

Laying out

 Beach time with Daddy

Hunter loved exploring our little room. He liked crawling on the bed and looking at the ocean out the window.

Hunter loved eating with Grandma and Grandpa.

One night, Dave took Hunter so Dayton and I could go to a show. We later met up on the deck to watch Monuments Men on the big screen by the pools. This is what Hunter looked like. . . It's been a while since Grandpa Dave had to dress a baby. . . .

Hunter loved the cruise and playing with everyone all day, but by the end of the trip this little guy was tuckered out! After a week of fun, six hours waiting at the airport and then a long, not so great four hour flight, Hunter was happy to be home!
Sure sad to see this kiddo go. Proud of him and his choice to serve a mission!
