Green Thumb

We extended our garden this year and were able to get it in before the cruise.  We planted cool weather plants a month or so ago- kale, broccoli, basil, lettuce, butter lettuce, and cauliflower. Unfortunately we planted a little two deep and had SO much rain this spring that only the broccoli and kale have really grown. Live and learn. We also planted five tomatoes, a cherry tomato, four green peppers, three red peppers, (yummy salsa) two cucumbers, two eggplants, corn, beans, and peas. Lots of canning this summer!

We also planted a pumpkin for Hunter this halloween and of course we had to plant a zucchini. This year we learned you only need one of those.
We also planted two butternut squash and two spaghetti squash. Our wonderful neighbor John is back and gives us lots of fresh fruit! We have already picked strawberries a few times and look forward to black berries, raspberries, apples, peaches, pears, grapes, and plums. Oh how I love this time of year. Nothing beats fresh produce from the garden.

I absolutely love our roses. The white ones are my favorite.
