Grandpa Dave and Grandma Shirlene wanted to take the boys to Heber for a night over fall break. They went on the Heber Creeper train. They got a cookie and a pumpkin, but wearing their costumes was definitely their favorite part. They sept a night in a hotel in Heber and had a blast with grandma, grandpa, and Aunt Mariah.
Dayton and I decided to take advantage of a kidless night and used it as an opportunity to celebrate my 30th birthday. We took the can am on an adventure. We rode from our house to Daneils summit. Neither of us had ever gone that far up Hobble Creek and we weren't totally sure how to get there. We looked at a couple maps and figured out a way there. There were several trails going every which way, but we managed to find our way there. It was the opening weekend of the deer hunt, so we saw several other people out on the trails. The ride was beautiful. It had snowed at the top of the mountain the night before, but it wasn't much. We bundled up and had a great ride. It was probably the last weekend we could have done it and we luckily caught the last of the fall leaves.
Dayton and his weird/crazy neck warmer.
We made it to the lodge just before the sun started to go down and it got CHILLY.
We ate dinner at the restaurant and hangout at the hot tubs. We watched movies, played games, and just hung out. It was the ultimate relaxing vacation away from kids and just what we needed. It was nice to have a little time along with Dayton before the baby comes in a couple of months.
The boys enjoyed their time at the hotel. Grandma came prepared with her famous chicken noodle soup.
Heber Creeper Train
The following Monday was my birthday. I wanted to take the kids to a Halloween river cruise in Provo. Dayton and I weren't that impressed, but the kids sure loved it and had a good time. Just soaking up more Halloween festivities. Later we had my favorite chocolate mousse for my "birthday cake."
