Crumbl CopyCat

Carter is our little foodie, so for a date night Carter and I tried to recreate the perfect cookie. This was inspired by his love for Crumbl chocolate chip cookies. We made a few recipes and played around with oven temperatures and timing. It was both a science and an art. We then picked up a Crumbl cookie and had a taste test. We think we did a pretty good job. Not many people could tell the difference between our recipe and the Crumbl. We will call that a success.

Our "blind" test tasters
Results: Crumbl cookie up top, cookie on the left (I thought looked the best) and cookie on the right ended up being the majority favorite. Interestingly, we found more people liked the cookie on the left day one and cookie on the right day 2. Cookie on the left was a little more time intensive. Cookie on the left has more baking powder and looked more cake like. The cookie on the right didn't have baking powder and spread out more while baking. It required at least an hour of chill time in the refrigerator.

He made for the cutest little chef!
