My family wanted to have a get together this summer, but it turned out being more complicated, so we opted for a "staycation." We started with a hike in North Salt Lake. Then we went to Christian and Charlotte's house for lunch and I put together a family Olympic event. Afterwards we went to Mike's house for a movie in his new theater basement. We had dinner and played outdoor games. Then we went back to my moms house and hung out there and played more games. We all slept over at grandmas- which with our crowd is no easy task. Every room was taken and some people slept outside in tents in the backyard.
The next morning, we had our classic Swedish pancakes. Then we did some genealogy and indexing. Grandpa Hunter took the grandkids and taught them about the pioneers and they made yummy Johnny cakes in honor of the 24th of July. Then we had hamburgers and swam at Brad's house. We also rented a water blow up house and it was way fun. The grandkids loved it. It was a jammed packed weekend. We were glad we could all get together for a few days while everyone was in Utah.
